Specialist College Status

Since 2006, St. Michael's Catholic High School has been designated a Specialist College in Humanities with specialism in Philosophy, Theology, English and Geography.  This has brought significant extra funding to the school under the government scheme.  Whilst the most obvious sign of this is the construction of the St. Mary's wing, with its state of the art Media Centre, the benefits are felt throughout the school and in all subjects.  For example it has funded many interactive whiteboards.  The videos on this website were filmed using cameras funded in the same manner.
