My journey through St Michael’s has not only helped me develop academically but also provided me with many extracurricular opportunities to support my progression into higher education. I am currently in my second year of studying Law at the University of Cambridge and the support and opportunities I was given during my seven years at St Michael’s helped me to achieve this. Such opportunities include; being part of sports teams, becoming the academic mentoring senior prefect, taking part in the Lourdes pilgrimage, community placement in a primary school and being taken to various public events such as the trip to the politicians’ debate – to name a few, which all illustrated and developed skills including leadership and self-motivation, vital to my degree choice. I was given all of the information I needed to make my UCAS application through visiting the UCAS fair, speakers from various universities coming into school and both group and one-on-one personal statement support. Though my time as a pupil at St Michael’s has come to an end, this will always be the place which helped me to realise and achieve my goals and allowed me to grow as a person, with its holistic approach to learning and extremely supportive teachers.
