Geography trip to Stratford
On the 6th and 7th of November, 150 GCSE and 22 A Level Geography students took a trip to the recently regenerated area of East London. Following the success of the Olympic Games and a £12 billion investment - we went to see if it was all worth it! A few pedestrian counts, questionnaires and Environmental Quality Surveys later we think we have the answer! But first, some data presentation and statistical analysis back in the classroom just to be sure.
year 11 trip to berlin
In November 2017 a group of Year 11 students went to Berlin for a visit organised by the History Department. Checkpoint Charlie, Potsdamer Platz and a preserved section of the Berlin Wall were among the many informative locations our students visited by way of preparing them for their GCSE History exams next year.
visit of sister joachim
In October we were very pleased to welcome Sr Joachim to our school. She is a former student who told us, in moving terms, of her work in Ethiopia. We are proud of our contribution in supporting her essential work with vulnerable people.
On Friday 29th September, the Feast of St Michael, over a thousand of our students joined our sponsored walk to raise funds for our charity initiatives. The rain did not stop the fun.
As part of our 60th Jubilee in 2016 the school made a commitment to support Sr Joachim, a former student, in her work in Ethiopia. We have raised funds and provided prayers and medicine for the seriously ill people Sr Joachim works with at her mission in Gobe. In the summer of 2017 Miss Doyle visited Ethiopia to see how we have helped and to find out what we can do in the future.
