Karaoke Night

On the evening of Friday 22nd November the ‘Bulldog Partys’ DJ blasted out the beats of Disco classics from way back when and St Michael's parents, friends and staff danced the night away!  A few melodies were shared on the Karaoke but hey, no names mentioned – what happens at Karaoke, stays at Karaoke!  Suffice to say that a memorable evening was had, voices were lost, dancing feet ached, thirsts were quenched at the bar, raffle prizes were won and a grand total of £1,150 was raised which goes directly towards the refurbishment of the Science Labs!

Heartfelt thanks go, as always, to everyone who contributed to make the Disco & Karaoke Night a sparkling success – that includes the PTFA, Staff, 6th Form Ambassadors and pupils who staffed the bar, the very generous parent who footed the bill for Bulldog Partys disco services, thus maximising profits, and all those who donated raffle prizes – past parents of the school, current parents of the school as well as businesses which include:-Cuti-Gels by Bex, Cakes by Lorayne, Isla’s Closet, The Dan Tien, Redpath Studios and Tesco.

Race Night

The first PTFA Race Night, held in June 2019, proved a galloping
This exciting evening commenced with some racegoers becoming 'Owners' for the evening, sharing in the destiny of the Thoroughbreds taking part in the 8 race, evening card.

'Fortunes' were won, lost and won again (or the other way around!) at the Tote amid shouts of joy and sighs of disappointment but whether your horses romped home or set up camp at the start tape, we hope you had a great evening.
Congratulations and thanks go to everyone who worked so
hard to make this evening such a great success - PTA members and their friends, our Sixth Form Ambassadors and their team of willing Sixth Form helpers who kept us refreshed throughout, running the bar, and manning the Tote.

This event raised over £1,100 for St Michaels Catholic
High School.

QUIZ NIGHT - 22 march 2019

The recent Quiz Night was not only an enormously fun evening with teachers, parents, friends and families taking part but it also raised the fabulous sum of £1,291.90!  In the present climate of school funding cuts this money is much needed - going toward providing essentials for our children’s education.

More than 10 teams participated, negotiating several rounds of questions covering various  subjects put to them by our Quiz Master, Mr Steve Cook.  Congratulations to the winning table and commiserations to the ‘Wooden Spoons’!

We are very grateful to everyone who donated prizes which allowed a great raffle to be held.  As tradition dictates, a round of ‘Heads or Tails’ was enjoyed in the interval.

Money rasied by PTFA events donated to departments

In October 2018, Head of Science Mr Lynch received a cheque for £550 from PTA club monies.  This will go towards a Year 11 revision package.

Media- Ms Roze recieved £600 for 2 new camcorders.

DT- Mr Greig recieved £500 for a new sander.

Science- recieved £216 for a new infra-red camera.
