Godspell Fun
31st January, 2010
As our three day run of Godspell comes to an end, we bid a fond farewell to a fun production. The cast really did battle against the odds this year, having to make up time lost through the disruptive weather. As has been the case since September, this dedicated group continued its weekend and after school commitment. The students joyfully supplemented this with rehearsals until 6pm each day last week and until 10pm for this week's dress rehearsals. Their effort spoke for itself.
Congratulations to all involved. For many this was a first St. Michael's production. This included not only our eager Year 7 students, but Kyle Melsome making his debut in the demanding role of Jesus. The technical crew also demonstrated extraordinary commitment. Katie Mazurek commanded the team that produced the giant on stage logo. Conor Swannick and James Punter virtually lived on site this week to get sound and lighting up to scratch.

A Message from Prime Minister Gordon Brown
15th January, 2009

On Monday evening Mr. Murphy was invited to 10 Downing Street with fellow outstanding head teachers to meet the Prime Minister. Gordon Brown asked John Murphy to share his gratitude with all of us for the efforts we are making to improve into one of the best schools in England. He recognises that it does not happen in some magical, mystical way but through the continued efforts of staff, parents and pupils. So, on behalf of Prime Minister Gordon Brown:
Well done!
