Welcome

The Sixth Form at St Michael’s Catholic High School will offer you an opportunity to progress into post-16 Education in an environment of academic excellence, combined with strong pastoral support.

Once you have successfully achieved your GCSEs passes you will be able to select the type of course and range of subjects that are most suited to you, and will provide you with the opportunity to progress into the Sixth Form.  You can be assured that the staff at St Michael’s will offer you the best advice possible in helping you make the right choice of course and subject combination.  The A’ Level and Vocational routes facilitate progression to University, should you wish to follow that pathway.  The years spent in the Sixth Form will be a highly rewarding time academically.  

Life in the Sixth Form is not just about gaining qualifications.  Your time as senior students will form the back drop to choices that you will make about the world of work or University education.  You will be given the opportunity to develop a whole range of other skills (leadership, sporting, organisational, working with younger students), as part of the commitment of the Sixth Form to the wider school community.  Such experiences will stand you in good stead throughout the rest of your life.

The most important qualification for entry into the Sixth Form is a serious intention to use your time profitably.  By working closely with all staff you will acquire self discipline and responsibility.  You must aim to achieve your true potential and benefit fully from the opportunities available to you. 

When you leave St Michael’s you will have had the best education; education from people who know you and care for your success as much as you do.  Make the most of your time in the Sixth Form and enjoy the experience.
