Subject Information AND ENTRY CRITERIA

SUBJECT INFORMATION

St Michael’s Catholic High School strives to provide each student with a two-year programme of study designed to realise his or her full potential. We believe we have one of the most comprehensive subject offerings in the area, allowing students to pursue either the A’ Level or Vocational route, or a combination of both.

For more information on the subjects we hope to offer for 2024 entry, please read the document below:

ENTRY CRITERIA AND ADMISSIONS

During the admissions process, our priority is ensuring our students are both on the right courses and likely to gain a high level of success.

Students continuing their education at St Michael’s choose 3 subjects to study. In some cases, students may be permitted to study 4 subjects – if, for example, they have an exceptionally high GCSE APS or study a language in their native subject. This is extremely rare and not a stated desire of UK universities.

The minimum entry requirement to Sixth Form at St Michael’s Catholic High School is 5 X grade 4s at GCSE, including Mathematics and English Language. In addition to this, the standard Entry Criteria for each subject must also be met.

More information about each subject's Entry Criteria can be found in the document below:
