Welcome to our website.

St Michael’s Catholic High School has served the local Catholic community of Garston, Watford and surrounding areas for over seventy years, and I am immensely proud and humbled to be appointed as only the sixth Headteacher in that time.

We are a vibrant, inclusive and joyful Catholic school, where strong relationships and Christian compassion are the motivation for everything we do. Our values are rooted in both the Dominican tradition of seeking truth in everything (‘Veritas’) and the principles of Catholic Social Teaching that puts others first. We nurture in our students a faith that is based on intellectual curiosity, high academic ambition and a deep compassion for others.

Our experienced and expert teaching staff constantly engage in ways to develop their teaching and ensure that every pupil is supported and challenged to become the best versions of themselves, whatever their future goals. We believe that every child is a child of God, and it is our responsibility to provide an educational environment where our pupils are safe, happy and will flourish as God intended.

We benefit greatly from strong partnerships with parents and families, many of whom attended the school themselves in their younger years, and we work closely with them in open, honest and supportive relationships. We are strengthened by being part of the Diocese of Westminster Academy Trust (DOWAT), consistently one of the highest performing Catholic Academy Trusts in the country, and we continue to be blessed with ongoing support from the Dominican Sisters of Rosary Priory, whose order founded the school in 1955.
